I’m just so delighted to be teaching the course again! I co-invented BJC in 2008 with my good friend and colleague Brian Harvey, and absolutely love teaching it. I’m passionate about bringing engaging and powerful CS “big ideas” to students who normally wouldn’t be exposed to it. I am humbled by all the national attention BJC has received (see the “in the News” part of my website) and hope you find this class beautiful and joyful! When I’m not working, you can find me traveling, playing golf or board games (e.g., Monopoly Deal), or binging shows (anything Pixar or Marvel) with my family. p.s. My wife and I both went to Cal for grad school… Go Bears!

Hello everyone! I’m Thrilled to be your Head TA this semester. My name is Nahee, and I’m a junior majoring in Data Science while pursuing computer science as my career path. I was a CS10 Academic Intern in my freshman year, a tutor for two semesters, and a TA last semester. I also served as a co-instructor for the BJC Summer Computer Science Academy and have led two BJC workshops. Like many of you, I first discovered computer science through CS10 and fell in love with it from there. I made some of my best friends in the class and created precious memories along the way. Outside of class, I love dressing up, going on long night walks, and making caffeinated drinks at home. Feel free to talk to me about anything - school, life, pets, people, anime, and more. I’m looking forward to meeting you all!

Hi everyone! I’m Jasmine, and I’m a sophomore double-majoring in cognitive science and rhetoric. I took CS 10 in my first semester at Cal, and served as an Academic Intern in Spring 2025. I also love creative writing, reading, singing, and knitting. This class was my first intro to programming, so if you’re looking for a great beginner’s course, you’re in the right place. Hey everyone! I’m Deepthi, a freshman majoring in EECS. I’m excited to be a Teaching Intern for the CS 10 team and hope to help students explore CS! I took 61A in Fall 2025, and hope to bring some of that knowledge to this class. This is my first time on course staff at Cal, but I love to teach and can’t wait to continue that passion here!
