I’m just so delighted to be teaching the course again! I co-invented BJC in 2008 with my good friend and colleague Brian Harvey, and absolutely love teaching it. I’m passionate about bringing engaging and powerful CS “big ideas” to students who normally wouldn’t be exposed to it. I am humbled by all the national attention BJC has received (see the “in the News” part of my website) and hope you find this class beautiful and joyful! When I’m not working, you can find me traveling, playing golf or board games (e.g., Monopoly Deal), or binging shows (anything Pixar or Marvel) with my family. p.s. My wife and I both went to Cal for grad school… Go Bears!

Hi all! I’m thrilled to be your Head TA this semester. I’m Nahee, a senior majoring in Data Science, and I’ve been working for CS10/BJC since my freshman year. I’ve made some of my best friends through this class and created precious memories along the way. Outside of class, I love watching social documentaries, racquet sports, organizing, bitter drinks, and writing personal papers. FYI, I’m from Korea and have lived in Singapore & Virginia. Hey everyone! I’m Deepthi, a sophomore studying EECS. I was a TI for this class in Spring 2026, and I’m excited to be back as a tutor to help introduce students to CS! Outside of this course, I love reading, drawing, skateboarding, and trying new food. I also enjoy collecting vinyls, so if anyone has music or restaurant recommendations, let me know! Hey everyone! I’m Nikhil, a sophomore intending on studying mathematics and computer science. I came to Cal with minimal coding experience, took CS10 in Fall 2025, and was a teaching intern for CS10 in Spring 2026. Outside of class, I’m interested in startups, enjoy collecting cards, and love playing pickleball, tennis, and basketball. Hi everyone! I’m Chloe, a sophomore from the Bay Area majoring in data science. Some of the things I love to do are dancing, baking, and matcha-hopping! If there’s ever a new matcha spot in the area, I’m definitely checking it out. I took Data C88C Fall 2025 and CS 61B last semester, both courses that taught me a lot. I’m super excited to be part of the course staff this semester and help you all succeed. Hi everyone! My name is Elba and I am an incoming EECS freshman from the Bay Area. I took CS10 over the summer and as a slower learner I was always bugging my TAs and now I am back to help this amazing course staff out! I was that kid in the beginning of the semester scared to ask for help for fear of looking dumb when everyone else seemed to understand even the simplest topics so please know that you will never be a bother, even if you ask for help multiple times on the same line.
