Iām just so delighted to be teaching the course again! I co-invented BJC in 2008 with my good friend and colleague Brian Harvey, and absolutely love teaching it. Iām passionate about bringing engaging and powerful CS ābig ideasā to students who normally wouldnāt be exposed to it. I am humbled by all the national attention BJC has received (see the āin the Newsā part of my website) and hope you find this class beautiful and joyful! When Iām not working, you can find me traveling, playing golf or board games (e.g., Monopoly Deal), or binging shows (anything Pixar or Marvel) with my family. p.s. Hello everyone! Iām thrilled to be your Head TA this semester. I currently work as an intern for a software company, SAP, the company that sponsors the programming language Snap!, which weāll be using throughout the semester. My passion lies in research, particularly in software development and computer science (CS) education. When I first took this course, I had no programming experience, but I fell in love with it and became a dedicated advocate for CS10 and Snap!.
As a non-traditional student returning to school after a four-year gap, I firmly believe that anyone can learn CS. The field is open to everyone, regardless of age, skill level, or previous experience. My key piece of advice is to embrace failure as part of the learning process. Remember, not knowing something now doesnāt mean you wonāt master it soon. Iām excited to share this journey with you and help you discover the world of computer science!

Yo! My name is Marius and Iām a senior majoring in Applied Math and Computer Science. I took CS10 Spring 2022 and have been involved with the course on staff ever since. Iām pumped to see what this semester has for all of us! I came into Berkeley with no coding experience and I remember how my roommates (who were in 61A/B at the time) screens used to look like giberish while they did hw. I had no idea what CS was so I decided just to try it out by taking CS10. The class quickly became my favorite Iāve taken so far at Berkeley as it opened up the world of programming to me in a very beginner-friendly way. I hope to lend other students a hand in finding their way into Computer Science as a whole and maybe even find a passion like I did :)

Hi all! My name is Nahee, and Iām a Junior majoring in Data Science. Before being a TA, I was a CS10 Academic Intern in my freshman year and a tutor for two semesters. I also served as one of the Co-Instructors for the BJC Summer Computer Science Academy and have conducted two BJC workshops. Besides CS, I love dressing up, going on long night walks, and making espresso at home. Feel free to talk to me about literally anything - school, life, pets and people, anime, etc.. Hi! Iām Joon, a senior majoring in Economics. I took CS10 in Fall 2024 and Iām excited to return as an Academic Intern this Spring! As an international student with no prior coding experience, CS10 helped me build a strong foundation. I love long movies because I think they have strong plot structures and Interstellar is my favorite. An interesting thing about me is that I like playing games after they lose popularity.
