WHERE DID YOU GROW UP? WHAT WAS YOUR PATH TO CAL?

I grew up in a small city called West Covina which is like, 20 miles(???) from Downtown LA. I applied to Berkeley sort of on a whim; I planned to apply to three UCs and was pretty certain about applying to UCI and UCLA; I was left deciding between UCSD and Berkeley. I ended up picking Berkeley because there was less reading involved but now I’m here and it’s great!!

HOW MUCH PROGRAMMING HAVE YOU DONE (& WHAT LANGUAGES)?

I started programming when I took CS10 back in Spring 2017. Since then, I’ve gotten experience with languages like Java, C, Swift, Javascript, Typescript, as well as some other stuff.

WHAT ARE YOUR HOBBIES?

I really like cooking! Actually doing it as well as just learning about chefs, origins of dishes, and ways food affects our culture! The same goes for music too —I find myself on Genius a lot reading up lyrics and learning about the story behind the songs.

WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR TALENTS & SKILLS?

I can type quickly, and consume food quickly as well.

HAVE YOU DONE ANYTHING REMARKABLE? HAS ANYTHING MEMORABLE HAPPENED TO YOU?

I once lost a spelling bee because I forgot to add the ‘s’ at the end of ‘congratulations’. Feels bad.

WHAT COMMITMENTS WILL BE CONSUMING YOUR CYCLES THIS SEMESTER?

I’ll also be teaching CS370 as well as working on some side projects.
